Located in Harmony Hall.
Class always begins by grounding the body and breath to feel the support of the earth. We use fluid movements to warm up and take a slow approach to traditional vinyasa yoga. There is emphasis on balancing our effort and ease and usually an opportunity to find some free flowing expression in your whole body! Come ride the gentles of slow flow with me
One of my primary ways of existing in the world is movement. My yoga practice first developed in high school to compliment the abrasiveness of my dance training and it hasn’t left my side since. I moved to New York in 2014 to pursue work as a modern dancer and this is when my yoga and healing arts education truly began. My studies include dance kinesiology and pedagogy, somatic movement practices, alignment based vinyasa yoga, therapeutics of yoga, breathwork and meditation. I began my studying Thai Massage in 2017 and continue to deepen my bodywork practice through ongoing curiosity and self-study of the body and our conscious connection to it.
My teaching is inspired by the elements— the expressive nature of being human— in my classes there is ample space to be yourself and attune to that which is already inside of you. When I’m not teaching or offering bodywork, I am likely spending time with my little tiger cat Moku, cooking, and taking nature walks with my partner Alex. The intensity of this land allows for quietude and reflection, life in the desert reminds us of fortitude, an element we can unveil within our practice and throughout our lives.
